Progress on Sail On

Oh my, I surprised myself.  I got a lot done on "Sail On"!  Two full verses plus... this is big.  Also, I realized while listening to Kate Rusby's "Who Will Sing Me Lullabies" that... it doesn't have to have a chorus!  The formulaic Nashville song type is absolutely overdone and does not necessarily a good song make.  "Sail On" has a beautiful, memorable hook and if I can get through the emotions to finish this in the next few days that would be the boost I really need: I'll have started, and finished, a single song within a week.  That would be a big accomplishment.  I have been too long out of practice; my songwriting muscles need stretching!  Writing what I did tonight didn't hurt as much as I thought it would.  God is great.
